IVIS-CT

The IVIS Spectrum CT enables longitudinal workflows to characterize disease progression and therapeutic effect in animals throughout the complete experimental time frame with both quantitative CT and optical reconstructions. The preclinical models includes oncology, toxicology, cardiovascular disease, neurological disorders, inflammation and other related diseases.

The IVIS Spectrum CT enables longitudinal fast imaging and provide possibility to image multiple animals. Furthermore, the IVIS-CT offers scanning of large cohorts of animals quickly and to draw sound conclusions from your experimental data.
This instrument is the most sensitive detection technology ideal for:
- 2D and 3D quantitative bioluminescence and fluorescence imaging
- Cerenkov imaging for optical radiotracer imaging
- Low dose and ultra fast microCT
- DyCE™ dynamic enhanced imaging for real time distribution studies of fluorochromes or PET tracers ideal for PK/PD applications.

The images from CT scan will be saved on LU’s server for limited period of time. A computer having Living image analysis software is assigned outside animal facility for analyzing the data.

IVIS-CT staff will do every effort to help researchers with their projects, given the complexity of the equipment. The general help from IVIS-CT staff that is included in the user fees for scanning:
- Initial discussions and design of experimental layout.
- Writing adequate parts of the application form.
- Support during the scanning of the animals and storage of data for limited time-period.
- Providing platforms for data storage and image analysis and assisting in data transfer and selection of image analysis tools.
The support including image analysis, statistical data analysis, and other imaging support is not included in the use fees and will be charged separately.

All projects performed with IVIS imaging is evaluated before acceptance with respect to possibility to perform the intended experiments successfully. This evaluation is performed by the head and the staff of the IVIS facility.
