MIFLOCYT

MIFLOCYT is a flow cytometry platform hosted and administered by the Division of Applied Microbiology (LTH). MIFLOCYT is not a core facility and we do not provide assistance with running the instruments, designing experiments or analyzing data. If this type of assistance is needed, we recommend establishing a collaboration with a researcher who is already connected to MIFLOCYT.

The researcher interested in using the instruments needs to apply for approval from the MIFLOCYT steering group to run the project within the infrastructure. The steering group consists of experienced flow cytometry users and is appointed by the Division of Applied Microbiology to organize the use and maintain the platform.

All data is generated and transferred locally. The data service consists of in-house primary storage, and each registered user gets storage space on MIFLOCYT computers. The data is either stored directly to the storage system during acquisition or transferred post acquisition using custom routines. For projects with very high storage needs, MIFLOCYT reserves the right to discuss optimal storage procedures with the PI. It should be noted that MIFLOCYT does not take formal responsibility for the data stored on MIFLOCYT systems.

As MIFLOCYT is not a core facility, it does not provide individual services to researchers that receive approval for their project (see section A above). Researchers already using MIFLOCYT can welcome new users to the platform, and can provide introductions to the booking system, the coffee room, and standard operating protocols (SOPs) required for startup, operation, cleaning and shutdown of the instrument.
