PACE
Collaboration with the national center for high resolution microscopy as well as large infrastructure is regularly coordinated.
The particle analysis center has a collection of machines that can measure properties of fine particles. The properties range from physical to chemical and includes such properties as:
- Specific surface areas
- Micro, meso and macro porosity of particles, powders or tablets
- Surface acidity or basicity, also differentiating Lewis from Brönstedt acid sites
- Adsorption isotherms for gases and liquids in interaction with powders
- Chemisorption isotherms for gases and liquids in interaction with powders
- Dynamic chemisorption
The centre has much experience working with catalysts, adsorbents and other inorganic materials. But has also acquired knowledge in the field of characterizing organic material, predominately various forms of biomass.
The workhorse in the center is equipment for physiorption, chemisorption and dynamic chemisorption, a Micromeritics 3-flex. In addition, the centre has a Micromeritics Autopore IV for mercury intrusion porosimitry. All equipment is state of the art and recently purchased.
Reference samples for measurements exist as well as a long analysis history to give reference to similar types of samples analyzed historically.
We help research groups and companies from all over the world with analysis in our field.
The infrastructure is run by Herje Schagerlöf and Christian Hulteberg
