Photoacoustic imaging
Beskrivning
Photoacoustic maging (PAI), which converts the absorption of nanosecond laser light pulses in tissue into an ultrasonic signal via thermoelastic expansion, is currently one of the most rapidly emerging non-invasive bioimaging techniques. PAI can provide high-resolution 3D images of the structure and function of tissues at an approximate depth of 1.5 cm with a resolution of 40 um. Results from experimental studies are promising and show detailed images of small blood vessels and tumors with high resolution. However, only a few studies have been carried out on the morphology of human tissues. We are currently introducing the technique into clinical research.
