Beskrivning

The Clinical Coagulation Research Unit in Malmö is managing several projects in the fields of thrombosis and bleeding disorders. Research in thrombosis includes epidemiological investigation into coagulation disorders, and research concerning different types and combinations of anticoagulant treatment. In the field of bleeding there are projects concerned with haemophilia, von Willebrand's disease (VWD), platelet function disorders, haemostasis in connection with surgery and complications of anticoagulant treatment. We also participate as coagulation advisers in the research of other departments that come in touch with the field of haemostasis, e.g. cardiology. The research unit is a part of Malmö Center for Thrombosis and Haemostasis, unique in that it combines clinical and laboratory know-how. This highly specilized centre is a national centre for the investigation of patents with bleeding and thrombotic disorders.
