Working across musicology and digital culture studies, my research is situated within the growing field of global pop music studies. I specialize in contemporary pop music (including hip-hop, EDM, and K-pop), music production (with a focus on its digitization), digital culture (including platformization and social media), and how non-Western musical frameworks operate within transnational platforms. My research often intersects these areas, exploring topics such as short-form content, AI, music psychology, genre, (pop) music theory, listening modes, and aesthetics.

My teaching spans a broad spectrum, from popular music and contemporary music production to music history, analysis, the music industry, and cultural politics.
