Teaching philosophy

I have since I started teaching as a young scholar been involved in different types of course at the Bachelor programme as well as Master level. I therefore have a rather extensive teaching experience, with focus on strategy and corporate governance.

I started early in my teaching career to teach not only students at the business school, but also to get involved in other types of educational program and seminars directed towards practitioners, including executive programs. This experience taught me the value of listening to the students and adapting teaching method and content to the target group; regardless who they are and where they are from. To have this experience with me has strengthen me in my role as a teacher, especially when meeting the students at the MiM program who all bring different backgrounds and experiences with them into the classroom.

Besides having experience from teaching in different environments and with different types of students in the classroom I have during my teaching career developed an interest in problem based teaching. I was introduced to the concept of problem based teaching already as a PhD student when I together with colleagues developed a course based on this philosophy as well as wrote a research article on the topic. Over the years, I have continued working with problem based teaching and used not only films, but also different kind of cases including live cases in my teaching. I have for example worked with life cases on the MiM proram arranging company visits as well as bringing representatives from a company into the classroom.
