Forskning

My research called “Plastic Extension of Music”, is a multidisciplinary process that creates autopoietic methodologies for music performance.

As a researcher I have developed three different tools for artistic research:

    · Plastic Extension of Music: a creative tool for performers to deactivate the historical weight of the praxis in classical music, exploring and creating alternative interpretations of music performance in different forms of art outside the musical instrument, by creating a new artwork, a "Plastic Extension of Music". These new metaphorical vehicles allow the performer with its body to translate the language, gestures and embodied knowledge outside the instrument in other forms of art, rethinking music and performance, while emancipating classical music and its performers from our long tradition.

    · The Kléndinsky Test: a deep interview with 7 different stations aimed to learn tactile and “visual” perspectives of tuned sound from the blind and the visually impaired. The objective is to unveil the physical and (in)visible form of music, to use these forms in the development of new methodologies of music transcription through the plasticity of music. The result will be a new music language conceived for the hearing-impaired and the deaf.

    · NABÔKÔ: a sculptural audiovisual toy of 24 organic shapes, each representing a musical note of the quarter-tone scale, assisted by a new technology that reproduces the sound of the sculpture. The objectives of this tool are to emancipate from the mirrored gestures of music performance, create a new ground for the mental images associated with sound and tuned sound, emancipate from music harmony rules and emancipate from brick layering in construction.
