I am a theoretical philosopher with a special interest in the borderland between belief and disbelief, and the many non-doxastic attitudes, like hope, fear, and faith, by which we navigate any context of uncertainty.

One of my main interests is the analysis of hope. I have developed the live possibility account, where hope depends on a qualified, context-sensitive notion of epistemic possibility. I have also offered an analysis of fear as the negative mirror-image of hope. My current project, "When Is It Rational to Abandon Hope?" (founded by "Birgit Rausing's stiftelse för medicinsk humaniora") concerns irrational and foolish hopes.

Another major research interest is disinformation. Contesting the idea that disinformation fools people into false beliefs, I have developed an account where disinformation leads to uncertainty. My model of disinformation buiilds on the same notion of live possibility as my theory of hope. I am currently working on the project "Non-Doxastic Disinformation Theory" (founded by "Dan & Jane Olssons stiftelse"), which explores disinformation from the perspective of manufactured uncertainty and aims to expand my model.

Much of my work concern non-doxasticism in relation to the epistemology of religion, and as a tool to understand how people relate to not just religion but any personal worldview. My dissertation Beyond Belief concerned non-doxasticism in relation to traditional religion and my post-doc project Beyond Faith put matters in a broader, worldview perspective.

When it comes to philosophy of religion, I am especially interested in analysing religious worldviews other than classical theism. I have offered philosophical intepretations of views like neopaganism and semi-secularity.

I have also worked extensively on religious fictionalism, which I compare to a role-playing game.
