Forskning

Associate Professor in Endocrinology and Senior Lecturer in nursing at Institution of Health care science, Lund University, Sweden. Cecilia Follin has over 20 years of experience from the field of endocrinology and late complications after childhood cancer. She holds particular interests in late complications after childhood cancer and pituitary disorders. Current research includes neurocognitive function after childhood cancer and diagnostic delay in patients with pituitary adenomas. Further, European harmonised approach to person-centred guideline-based survivorship care after childhood cancer is an ongoing study. Intervention with physical activity to improve health among childhood cancer survivors is also an ongoinf study. Previously research includes pituitary insufficiency with reference to cardiovascular risk and bone health and also, experience of nurse-led follow-up clinic in childhood cancer survivors.

Another research area is Intervention with digital peer support to reduce stigma among adolescents living with HIV in Ethiopia. This is a collaboration with Arba Minch University in Ethiopia.

Cecilia Follin holds a position as clinical nurse specialist at the follow up clinic, Skåne University Hospital, Lund. She has 20 years of clinical experience of follow up after childhood cancer. Cecilia is the chair of National network of Follow-up clinics in Sweden. She holds a position in the steeringgroup of the national workinggroup of childhood cancer with focus on late complications. She is initiator and former chair of Nordic Network of Endocrine Nurses and also funding member of Nurses Committee of European Society of Endocrinology. In 2023, she received The European Endocrine Nurse Award for excellence in teaching and leadership.
