My research focuses on combining models for electroactive polymers with numerical algorithms for topology optimization. Of particular interest in the optimization procedure is ensuring that electrodes are continuously connected to a power source. This contributes to generating optimized designs that are not only physically functional but also free from isolated, inactive electrodes. Additionally, the influence of the surrounding space on the electric field is also of interest to include in the optimization.
