Eleni studied Biomedicine at Lund University and obtained her M.Sc. in 2015 after doing her master thesis in Experimental Infection Medicine at the laboratory of Professor Vincent Fischetti, at the Rockefeller University, NY.

During her education Eleni developed a specific interest for immunology and infection medicine and in May 2015 she joined Associate Professor Mattias Collin's lab, at the Division of Infection Medicine, as a PhD student.

Eleni will mainly be focusing her work on identifying and characterizing the properties of specific proteolytic proteins, with immunoglobulin modifying properties, produced by the Gram-negative, predatory bacterium Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus.
