Erin Kennedy

Erin Kennedy is interested in low-carbon development and community level climate change action in China and Japan. The focus of her thesis research remains in China wherein Erin explores community engagement strategies that enable stakeholder involvement in planning local community level climate change action. 

In China Erin is based at the Tyndall Centre at Fudan University in Shanghai. Erin has worked on an additional project in Japan wherein she collaborated with the National Institute of Environmental Studies (NIES) to provide an analysis of stakeholder involvement in planning local community level climate change actions. Here, Erin facilitated dialogue between engaged participants who represented different societal groups within the community.

With her research Erin hopes to contribute to the discussion on collaborative, participatory and network governance in the area of community level climate change resilience building, which may provide some analytical frameworks for how to involve non-public bodies.

Within the field of Social Work, Erin contributes to the discussion and actualization of the role of social work in sustainable development and in addressing social and environmental changes.
