Forskning

Prof Eva Marie Erfurth is a clinical and academic endocrinologist with special interest in patients with pituitary tumours, particularly in Craniopharyngiomas. A new important research area is late complications after childhood malignant disease with a special focus on hypopituitarism and hypothalamic damage due to cranial radiotherapy. She graduated at Medical School in Uppsala, Sweden and received Medical Degree, at Department of Medicine, Lund, Sweden. She is a specialist in Diabetes & Endocrinology, Internal Medicine and Allergic Diseases. At present she is senior consultant at the Department of Endocrinology, Skåne University Hospital, Lund, Sweden. Received PhD 1987, 1992 asocciate professor and 2009 professor in Endocrinology at Lund University. Board Member of Swedish Medical Research Council 2007-2009, and served as Member of Editorial Board of Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism and The Pituitary. Member of the Executive Committee for the ENEA, 1999-2004. Member of Program Organising Committee ECE 2009. Rewarded article of the Month 2006, at Medical Faculty, Lund University. She has published over 90 papers, numerous book chapters in the field of Endocrinology and has been an invited speaker on medical conferences all over the world. She shares her time between clinical patient care, clinical research as well as teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
