Forskning

Presently, I hold the role of Associate Lecturer at the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University.

During my PhD (at Linnaeus University in Växjö) I focused on the examination of the demand (homeowners) and the supply side (micro, small, and medium-sized construction companies, real estate agents, banks, and municipalities), as well as the market conditions, in terms of policies, which support the development of a product service system delivered as a One-Stop Shop for the energy renovations of single-family houses in Sweden.

My research not only shed light on the market potential for this innovative concept but also identified significant barriers faced by supply-side actors that have hindered the entry of one-stop shops into the market. As a result of this research, the groundwork was laid for the successful launch of the first one-stop shop (Klimatfastigheter Småland AB) in the Swedish market, in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.

My earlier research delved into the convergence of building design, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. More specifically, I investigated the intricate dynamics among stakeholders within the residential building renovation demand and supply chains. My work entails devising scenarios for energy-efficient renovations of existing residential structures. The overarching objective of my research is to tackle the fragmentation prevalent in renovation supply chains, while also addressing the needs of tenants and building proprietors. This includes those who are on the cusp of energy poverty or already grappling with it. Furthermore, I am dedicated to fortifying the built environment against the adverse ramifications of climate change. These issues have taken center stage not only at the European Union level but also globally.

My focal areas encompass policy analysis, climate finance, innovative business models, climate change mitigation, circular economy, and sociotechnical sustainability transitions. I boast an extensive skill set in project management, data analysis, policy assessment, and evaluating and monitoring micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises within the construction sector.

My expertise encompasses:

- Formulating business models
- Crafting circular business strategies
-Championing sustainability-driven innovation and entrepreneurship
- Practicing design research and thinking
- Navigating Corporate Social Responsibility decision-making

In addition to my research, I am a passionate volunteer who has participated, for 17 years (took a break in 2020), in various projects related to infrastructure development and maintenance and promoting the well-being of local communities in Africa and Southeast Asia, as a member of Engineers Without Borders.
