My work is in the field of historical demography. I am an expert in long term changes in health, over the past centuries until today. I study how health is shaped by the disease environment, by childhood experiences, over the life course and across generations. Indicators of health I’m interested in include reproductive health, stature, birthweight, morbidity and mortality. I study health changes using historical and modern population registers of Sweden and digitized and linked civil certificates of the Netherlands.
