My research focuses on the role of political parties in contemporary democracies. I am particularly interested in how citizens participate in politics through parties, and the internal relationship between party members and party leadership.

I am one of the principal investigators of the Chapel Hill Expert Survey on political party positioning, and am also the co-principal investigator of the Swedish Party Membership Survey.

My teaching includes courses on Comparative Politics, Comparative Political Behavior, and the European Union. I regularly supervise student research on related topics at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels.

Introduktion

Before joining the political science department in Lund, I was an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen and the University of Gothenburg (docent in 2017). I received my Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2012, and held a post-doctoral fellowship at the Centre for European Research at the University of Gothenburg.
