Forskning

Kentaro Murata received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Iwate University, Morioka, Japan, in 2011 and 2014, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, National Defense Academy of Japan, Yokosuka, Japan, in 2016.

He joined the Wireless System Laboratory, Corporate Research and Development Center, Toshiba Corporation, Kawasaki, Japan, in 2016. He is currently an Assistant Professor with Iwate University, and a Visiting Assistant Professor with Lund University, Lund, Sweden. His current research interests include multi-antenna systems and signal processing techniques for full-duplex/MIMO communication, wireless power transfer, and wireless localization. He authored chapter 10 of Electromagnetic Vortices: Wave Phenomena and Engineering Applications (Wiley-IEEE Press, 2021) in the IEEE Press Series on Electromagnetic Wave Theory.

Dr. Murata was nominated as a finalist of the Young Scientist Award of the ISAP in 2011 and was a recipient of the Best Paper Prize of the IEEE Sendai Section Student Awards in 2013, the Best Student Paper Award of the ISAP in 2015, the Young Researcher’s Award from the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) of Japan in 2016, the IEEE AP-S Japan Young Engineer Award from the IEEE AP-S Tokyo Chapter in 2017, the EuMC Microwave Prize of the EuMW in 2018, and the URSI AT-RASC 2022 Young Scientist Award in 2022. He was also listed as Top Reviewers of IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation for the Periods 2018-2019, 2019-2020, and 2020-2021.
