Melinda Rezeli, PhD is an associate professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Lund University. In 2007 she joined a biotech company in Hungary as a researcher and took part in the development of immune-based multiplex assays in the field of life sciences and healthcare. After getting her PhD in analytical chemistry at the University of Pécs (Acrylamide-based separation matrices, 2008), she conducted postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Prof. Thomas Laurell at Lund University. Dr. Rezeli has 15 years of experience in biological mass-spectrometry. She has participated in and led several proteomic and multi-omic studies, which were primarily aimed at understanding the complex biological processes underlying development and heterogeneity of various diseases, such as Alzheimer´s disease and various cancers, as well as exploring possible new diagnostic and therapeutic options. She also developed multiplex assays to quantify proteins associated with different diseases, which were then used to screen clinical patient cohorts. She is associated with the Swedish National Infrastructure for Biological Mass Spectrometry, and a member of the Working group on Protein Misfolding and Aggregation Diseases in B/D HPP.
