Forskning

My research revolves around questions of how humans relate to, are shaped by, and represent technology, biology, and nature — often approached through visual methods.

Within this framework, my work focuses on three main areas:

  1. The implementation of digital technological innovation and social equality.
I have been involved in two projects in this field — one exploring how the digitalization of the payment market affects people who, for various reasons, depend on cash; and another, starting in 2026, that will examine how digitally excluded individuals are affected as human rights subjects.

  2. Imaginaries of (digital) technology and its power to redefine what is considered human.
In this area, I have conducted studies on transhumanism, biohacking, and techno-futurism, exploring how these movements envision the boundaries between human and machine, nature and technology.

  3. The history of 1970s U.S. photography.
Here, my research focuses on artists who sought to break away from conventional ideas of what photography and the camera are. I am particularly interested in the notion, emerging during this period, that the camera can capture dimensions of reality beyond the purely documentary visual.
