I am associate professor at the Department of Clinical Sciences at Helsingborg, Lund University and consultant in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at Helsingborg Hospital. I did my PhD on induced hypothermia after cardiac arrest with a clinical focus organizing the international Hypothermia Network Registry, now renamed the International Cardiac Arrest Registry (INTCAR). The thesis led to the design and conduct of the international randomized clinical trial: Targeted Temperature Management 33°C versus 36°C after Cardiac Arrest (TTM-trial), where I was principal investigator and lead author. I am the principal investigator of the soon to be launched TTM2-trial. My current research interest is on various aspects of post-cardiac arrest care with focus on temperature management, trial methodology, trial conduct, prediction and follow-up. I supervise two PhD-students and am involved as co-supervisor in several projects within the TTM-study group. I have current funding from the Swedish Heart and Lung Foundation, The Swedish Research Council, Regional research support, Region Skåne, Governmental funding of clinical research within the Swedish National Health Services, Gorthon, Zoega and Knutssons foundations.
