My research focuses on media-oriented and sociological approaches to literature and literary culture. I have worked with intermediality and multimodality, transmedia storytelling, serial narratives and digital reading cultures. 

 My PhD-project focused on intermedial literature and the representation of cultural memory, and resulted in the book "Memory, Intermediality and Literature: Something to Hold on to" (Routledge, 2019). In 2018, I received an international postdoc-stipend from the Independent research Fund Denmark (2018-2020), focusing on serialization in contemporary literature culture. Thus, I study how serial narratives move between media, and how literary series are inspired by e.g. television series and vice versa, focusing on such cases as the Norwegian webseries Skam, The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood/HBO, and audiobook series  Storytel Originals by the Swedish subscription service Storytel. 

In 2020, I began working on the project "Reading on the move" (LU, Digital Cultures) which also focuses on digital audiobooks, specifically original texts written for the audio format, and the reading cultures that surround these texts. Focusing on these texts allow me to examine, how the digital audio format shapes the literary content and cultures and modes of reading. I am especially interested in the aspect of mobility: how audiobookd promote mobile reading and the integration of literature into modern everyday life. Thus, I study audiobooks in a digital cultures perspective, in order to examine how digitalization affect the content and usage of literature today.
