A Bioarchaeological Perspective on Urbanization in Medieval Denmark: Lund from 990 AD to 1536 AD

The aim of my project is to identify population level trends in health and to reveal how they relate to human identity and social organisation in the past. Through modelling the effect that factors such as age, sex and pre-existing health conditions have on risk of death we can better understand the lived experience of people in the past and uncover the influence of changing physical and social environments on health. As a part of my project I will be working with a collection of human remains curated by Kulturen here in Lund.
