Tilläggsvärde av kontrastförstärkt mammografi (Contrast Enhanced Spectal Mammography, CESM) vid diagnostik och storleksuppskattning av misstänkta cancerförändringar i bröst

The current project is a prospective randomized trial. 440 patients with a strongly suspected or established diagnosis of breast malignancy, based on assessment with mammography, ultrasound and cytology/core biopsy, and who are planned for primary surgery, are offered inclusion in the study. Half of the patients are randomized to go through additional investigation with CEM and the other half to no further imaging. The CEM result will be taken into consideration and may change primary treatment plan. Tumour size estimations with mammography, ultrasound and CEM will be compared with histopathology as reference standard.
