Förmaksmyopati som förstadium till förmaksflimmer, hjärtsvikt och stroke

Despite the severe consequences of atrial fibrillation there are currently no validated methods to identify high risk individuals and offer preventive interventions. The goal of this project is to study the use of diagnostic methods in atrial fibrillation prediction, the role of the emerging concept of atrial myopathy in clinical management of individuals with high atrial fibrillation risk, and identify modifiable risk factors for atrial fibrillation and atrial myopathy.
