Chemical pollution in urban ecosystems

My project is part of the ChemFreeGarden project. During my thesis, I want to find out, how soil organisms, biodiversity and important ecosystem services like pollination are affected by the use of pesticides and other hazardous chemicals. My study area are urban gardens and parks in Lund Municipality.
In my research, I will combine exposure experiments and molecular biological investigations in the lab with semi-field studies and field experiments looking at chemical pollution, biodiversity and pollination in urban gardens. I also plan to interview garden keepers about their attitude towards pesticide use.
