Beskrivning

This project will be done in collaboration with Linköping University, Alexandr Malusek and Håkan Pettersson. The aim of the project is to perform sensitivity analysis on the results obtained by them. The software used will be Ecolego for biokinetic model and parameter variation and Nucleonica for spectra generation. Results from Ecolego will be cross checked with Taurus software results.

Based on the radionuclide inventory and particle size simulations, nuclide specific minimum detectable internal dose contribution and uncertainties by means of in-vivo whole-body counting of emitters such as I-125, Gd-146, Gd-153, Eu-146, W-187, Hf-178m, Ta-182 and Hf-172, will be investigated. It will also be determined to which extent these radionuclides can be used as trace nuclides for assessing the corresponding internal dose from short-lived isotopes and alpha-emitting radionuclides. Goal: Theoretical optimization of time windows for detectability of mentioned radionuclides by means of direct and indirect whole-body counting using high resolution gamma spectrometry are established. Age and sex specific quantification will be considered as well.
