Fetal Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging - Technical development and clinical utility

Recent advances in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has made it possible to study the heart and circulation in fetuses and pregnant women. These new techniques may increase knowledge of the pathophysiology of cardiac malformations and pregnancy-related diseases such as preeclampsia and may lead to improved diagnostic methods. The aim of this project is to study the pathophysiology of fetuses and pregnant women in complicated pregnancy and to evaluate how new MRI-based methods may provide increased diagnostic possibilities with impact on clinical care for fetuses with cardiac malformation.
