Projektinformation
Beskrivning
The present project will assess the utility and challenges of a commonly used self-exclusion system against problem gambling, a system which is typically applied by individuals who gamble too much and who wish to stop themselves from using online or physical gambling sites. This self-exclusion service in Sweden, named 'Spelpaus', is unique and likely the only self-exclusion system which includes a large number of gambling opportunities in an entire country. This project will assess how individuals with gambling problems perceive this self-exclusion service, and also how it is perceived by their families. The project will consist of both quantitative and qualitative studies, and it will describe both successful experiences of using 'Spelpaus', and possible challenges such as the risk of breaching the self-exclusion barrier and moving on to illegal gambling or to overseas gambling operators.
