Beskrivning
My doctoral research project is situated at the intersection of legal philosophy and human rights law, and concerns the right to privacy and, in particular, its relationship to autonomy.
The project contains a conceptual analysis of the concept 'privacy', in which the varying meanings of 'privacy' are identified and analysed. The second part of the thesis examines one such meaning in greater detail: so called 'decisional privacy', i.e. the freedom to make the decisions about 'private' matters. Therein, I examine how 'decisional privacy' relates to other privacy conceptions and how the European Court of Human Rights applies Article 8 of the European Convention in relation to matters of autonomy.
