Stepped or stratified care for pediatric anxiety disorders: A randomized controlled study

In an effort to move the field of pediatric mental health care forward, our research group has initiated a large RCT examining effects of stepped and stratified care for children and adolescents with anxiety disorders. A sample of approximately 500 youth with anxiety disorders will be randomized to either stepped or stratified care (1:1) and
receive up to two courses of treatment. Outcomes will be carefully monitored for 6 months using blind outcome assessments and through information collected directly from the children and their families. The dissertation will include describing the RCT in
a study protocol, describing the baseline characteristics of the study sample, evaluating a diagnostic psychiatric interview, and presenting the outcomes of the RCT.
