Stress-induced BVOC emissions from forests in Sweden

This dissertationproject is focusing on how different abiotic or biotic stress factors are affecting the BVOC (Biogenic volatile organic compound) emissions from trees and forest floor. Bark beetle infestation, oxidative stress from ozone and forest fire impacts on the forest floor are the main stress factors that are analyzed during this project.

Data is collected from field measurements using dynamic chambers and adsorbent tubes, as well as measurments in various lab settings. Lab analysis of the collected data is conducted using an ATD-GC-MS system.
