Beskrivning
Some researchers argue that the heterogeneity in findings of studies on the mechanisms of hypnosis might be explained by the possibility that the same behavioral hypnotic responses (such as no response to pain) can be a product more than one mechanisms.
The present project aims to establish the number of discrete subtypes among highly hypnotizable subjects based on differences in their experiences during hypnosis. We will achieve this by analyzing a large dataset comprising of experiential reports of hypnosis participants gathered by several laboratories worldwide.

Populärvetenskaplig beskrivning
We believe that there are 2 or 3 distinctly different ways that people respond to hypnosis. We hope to identify these different ways of hypnotic responding and to develop tools to be able to predict which way an individual is most likely to respond.
