SveRekoord- Evaluation of rehabilitation coordinators impact in primary healthcare

Region Skåne is one of many regions that has introduced the function of rehabilitation coordinator in several care units, especially in primary healthcare. A rehabilitation coordinator is often an already employed person, usually with a background as a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, counselor or nurse. He or she is then given the task of being a rehabilitation coordinator within the employment or parts of the position. Since February 2020, the rehabilitation coordinator function has been a statutory and permanent function in Swedish health care. Few studies have evaluated the role of the rehabilitation coordinator and the effectiveness of their function in relation to patterns of sick-leave.

The overall aim of the project is to study the usefulness having employed rehabilitation coordinator in primary healthcare care and also to evaluate the one-year training that rehabilitation coordinators have undergone.
