The SENS project focuses on:
(1) how people make SENSe of sex development that diverges from binary sex norms, and
(2) clinical interventions that are brought into play in relation to children and young people’s sex development

The clinical interventions of interest include hormonal interventions, surgical interventions, psycho-social interventions, life-saving interventions, cosmetic interventions, and more.

The SENS project takes a psycho-social approach. This project is centred on the understandings that young people with diverse sex develoment, their parents, carers and health professionals bring to bear in making SENSe of bodily diversity and sex development.
