Understanding the uses of tourism information sources and tourism information search strategies in the age of digitalization



In this research project, I would like to explore how people relate to different sources of tourism information in the context of the digital age.
The project is a compilation thesis, and the focus of each article will be on different media through which tourists find information about their destinations, such as guidebooks and smartphones. My interest lies in the importance, value and uses of the objects as such and in the ways in which the materiality of the objects is intertwined and affects peoples' behaviours as well as their understandings of reality.
The project also focuses on methodological issues related to the study of tourists behaviour in situ, as well as on the possibilities that technological developments open up for research from a methodological perspective.
