Sammanfattning

The main focus of this paper is to establish diagnostics of stator faults of the stator windings of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) drive system. To accomplish this objective, a new diagnostic method is proposed. In the proposed method, stator fault detection is based on the dc offset of the Stator Flux Linkage (SFL) in the antisynchronous reference frame (ASRF). The DC offset of the SFL is calculated by estimating the SFL in the stator reference frame, transforming it to an ASRF and low pass filtering it. The diagnostic parameter namely stator flux linkage DC offset (SFDO) is robust against speed changes, operating conditions and type of stator connection (star or delta). Additionally, it is able to diagnose both stator fault existence, its location and related phase. With the proposed method, a stator fault monitoring system is realised. The proposed diagnostic model is simulated and tested to study PMSM fault behavior under different operating conditions. The validity of the proposed approach is verified with results from the simulation model of the PMSM.
