Sammanfattning

An integrated thermal biosensor array was designed and fabricated for the simultaneous determination of glucose, urea and penicillin. The sensor contains ten thin-film thermistors which were fabricated on quartz chip by micromachining and semiconductor technologies. This sensor allows to determine maximum five different analytes nearly simultaneously by serially dividing the single microchannel into five distinct detection regions. Each of the regions contains one immobilized enzyme and a pair of thermistors for differential measurement of the thermal signal corresponding to the enzyme reaction. Using this device, glucose, urea and penicillin mixed samples at different concentrations were determined. The linear ranges of at least 25 mM for urea and penicillin, and up to 20 mM for glucose were obtained using a sample volume of 20 μ/l.
