Sammanfattning

From 1945 to 1946, Zygmunt Lakocinski (1905-1987) served as the head of the Polish Research Institute in Lund. The Institute conducted interviews with newly arrived concentration camp prisoners, thus documenting the traumatic wartime experiences of repatriates. With the evacuated former prisoners in mind, Lakocinski founded and served as the editor of the Polish-language weekly "Polak". The collected source material, including over 500 interviews with Polish citizens, was securely preserved, and sent to the Hoover Institute and Library of War, Revolution and Peace at Standford University in 1949.
