N2 - The main aim of this study is to describe and analyse the factors affecting the daily life activities of hearing-impaired students in Jordan from the point of view of hearing-impaired students, their teachers, and their parents. Two questionnaires were developed, one directed towards the activities, and the other to the factors affecting these activities. The two questionnaires were distributed among 248 hearing-impaired students, 89 teachers, and 261 parents. The results of hearing-impaired students indicated that the perceptions related to the psychosocial conditions, educational and instructional sevices, communication skills, and classroom environment are significant factors in the prediction of preferring and practising the different daily life activities. The total factors do not signifacantly differ compared to sex. It is significant if compared with the variables of placement, age and degree of hearing loss.
The findings of teachers of hearing-impaired students show that the educational value of the activities, perceptions related to the attitudes of others, psychosocial conditions, and classroom environment are the most important factors in the prediction of practising the daily life activities.
The finding of parents of hearing-impaired students reported that the educational value of the activities, and perceptions related to the attitudes of others are significant predictors in the prediction of practising daily life activities. The results also indicated that the total factors significantly differ when compared with the variables of qualification, and the degree of hearing loss of the child. On the other hand, the factors not significantly compared to their sex.
