Abstract
When studying the deposition of particles in wind tunnel experiments, we measure theairborne particles with an Aerodynamic Particle Sizer (APS). The deposited particles are examined with an optical microscope connected to an image analyzer. Calibration between the APS and the optical microscope determinations of particle size has been performed for particles of fused alumina. The particle size calibration procedure is performed by comparing the 50% cutoff sizes, determined with APS and optical microscopy measurements, for different single-stage impactors.
